My Approach...

Capturing Moments That Matter Most

Hi, I’m Damon — the eye, heart, and steady hands behind Damon Alexander Cole Photography.

For me, photography isn’t just a career — it’s a connection. A quiet moment between a newlywed couple. A stolen glance during a toast. The way light spills into a room when no one else is paying attention. I live for those subtle, unscripted moments that say more than words ever could.

My approach is rooted in storytelling. Whether it’s the electric buzz of a wedding morning, the warmth of a golden-hour portrait, or the bold elegance of an editorial-style shoot — my goal is always the same: to create honest, emotive imagery that feels just as real twenty years from now as it did in that moment.

Timeless Moments & Memories Captured Through the Art of Photography

Not Only Weddings

While weddings are the cornerstone of my work, I also embrace a diverse range of creative projects — from high-end automotive photography to intimate boudoir sessions, elegant interiors, enviromental portraits, landscapes and beyond. Each new endeavour brings its own unique challenge, and I approach every story with passion, intention, and purpose, capturing each in its most authentic form.

The Team

We’re a small but mighty crew—okay, it’s mostly just me, fuelled by a little coffee, a lot of ADHD and the responsibility of spoiling the two most beautiful girls in the world: Kirsty and Nola. Which means every shoot, edit, and email is powered by passion, caffeine, and a whole lot of heart!!

I don’t see our connection as you just “hiring a photographer.” You’re inviting me into your private world, and I treat that with all my heart to make sure it becomes a lasting relationship. My business will only thrives by word of mouth and repeat clients, so it means everything to me that you truly love what I capture and create). This business is how I support my little family, and every client becomes a part of that story.

Me

Lead Photographer

Based in Manchester, but all locations considered, I’m lucky enough to be able to travel across the UK and abroad for my work, with two stunning weddings already booked for Italy and Spain next year (no bragging, just a little humble excitement!).

Originally from North Wales, my journey into photography has been anything but conventional.

From the age of 18, I’ve had my hands on a camera, but I spent many years in the catering industry—first as a chef and later in cocktail bars—always driven by creativity. I was the guy snapping photos of the dishes and drinks I crafted, but it wasn’t until 2020 that life gave me a huge wake-up call. The pandemic hit, and I found myself homeless.

You might’ve read about it in newspapers or seen the story on BBC Breakfast; it was a rock-bottom moment. But sometimes, the lowest points in life can be the catalysts for the biggest changes. That experience pushed me to walk away from hospitality and pursue my true passion—photography.

Now, years later, I look back with gratitude for the setbacks that made me stronger and more determined. With countless shoots and years of professional experience behind the lens, I approach every project with appreciation, love, and an unwavering commitment to my craft. My work has been featured in various magazines, both directly and through my clients, and each opportunity reinforces how lucky I am to do what I love.

Whether I’m photographing a couple on their wedding day or a brand looking to tell their story, my approach is always rooted in authenticity. I treat every shoot as a collaboration, bringing my energy, creativity, and professionalism to ensure the best results. I’m not just about taking great photos—I’m about capturing moments that matter.

Kirsty (My girlfriend)

Second shooter / content creator

Me and Kirsty have been together for two years now, meeting in the hiker world (I know, no dating apps—shocking, right?). We’re madly in love, but when it comes to work, we keep it professional while having fun. We’ll show you some great poses to try, and if I am really honest Kirsty’s way better than me at taking videos (I stick to photos, unless there’s a drone involved!).

We’ve teamed up on a few shoots, and while Kirsty’s great with taking photos, she truly shines when it comes to video content creation. This is an add-on to my wedding photography service (around £249-£349 a day for her), but honestly, for what she creates and adds to the day, she should probably charge double! When she’s content creating, she’s like a BTS film pro, recording social media videos in stunning 4K from an iPhone 15 Pro Max and turning them into beautiful, shareable videos. You’ll have them in your hands within 48 hours, so you can look back on the memories or share them straight away.

She’s an awesome asset to have on the day, but you’re under no obligation to book her with me. Don’t just take my word for it—ask to see her work, and I’ll happily share her contact details with you.

Nola (Our Dobermann Puppy)

Pain in the backside but cute

Meet Nola, our 15-month-old Dobermann. She may look like butter wouldn't melt, but trust us—the 'N' in Nola stands for Naughty! We wouldn't change her for the world. While she doesn't often join us on shoots, she occasionally tags along on outdoor sessions if she's feeling supportive. At home, she's the self-appointed guardian of my photography equipment, ensuring everything stays 'safe.'

When she's not curled up in bed, enjoying a good spoon, you'll find her in the garden attempting to 'redecorate' with stolen socks or adventuring with us in the mountains and hills. Nola adds that extra bit of joy and unpredictability to our lives—and to our workdays.
